The Refsol Story

REFSOL INTERNATIONAL was established in 2007. Over the years, REFSOL INTERNATIONAL has developed expertise in the SMME sector with a view toward creating an environment for new talent, encouraging entrepreneurship, supporting innovation, and formulating sustainable strategies to encourage creative thinking.

This has resulted in the development of several relationships with South African and International companies. The creation of sustainable supply chains while eliminating redundancies is key to the REFSOL strategy for value creation.

Refsol has a presence at all South African Refineries and Petrochemical facilities. Making use of our Global technology partners in Oil & Gas Process Chemicals, Advanced Fuel Technologies, Water Treatment, and Fiscal Marking, we provide exceptional field monitoring, laboratory analysis, reporting, and international benchmarking.

CEO Profile

Previan Naicker has 28 years of experience within the Southern African Chemicals Industry (2 years in the pharmaceutical industry and 26 years in specialty chemicals). He has been involved within the Southern African region’s Refineries and lubricants manufacturing sector for many years.

A particular historic achievement was the successful introduction, roll-out, and management of the first Fuel Marker Program on the African continent.

In 2007, Previan started a Consulting company based on his unique understanding of the complex environment of specialised chemicals within the wider Southern African region. He has crafted an organisation around the strategic concept of creating value from synergistic relationships.

His extensive experience in value chain optimisation and logistics support enables him to have the core capabilities to deliver critical logistic and value-added services. The team around Previan has been developed around this culture of value and service delivery.

Our Growth Journey

2008 - 2012

EMS Entity & SAPREF Partnership

EMS registered as an entity in 2008. Initiated consulting in the lubricants industry, launched process chemical business at SAPREF (2010), and signed a successful key contract with Dorf Ketal (2012).

2013 - 2016

Refsol International Expansion

Implementation of process chemicals at SAPREF (2013). First finished fuel business in the region (2014). Expansion into water treatment ventures (2015) and establishment of dedicated R&D division (2016).

2017 - 2019

Sasolburg, TOTAL & PETRONAS Contract

New business ventures launched in Sasolburg (2017). First business established in TOTAL entity (2018). Awarded contract in partnership with Dorf Ketal to supply fuel terminals of PETRONAS Group across SA, Mauritius & Botswana (2019).

We have been actively involved in social upliftment programs and currently provide business development advice and planning services to small start-ups and SMMEs, Pro-Bono.

Our upliftment programs include providing computers & tablets to disadvantaged school children and providing these children with nutritious daily meals.

Scholarships are given to deserving candidates to further their tertiary education to achieve their full potential. These scholarships had been consistently maintained even during the COVID-19 Pandemic to Primary school learners and Special Aided Learners.
